August 20: 17 Days Without a Hike
Feeling really discouraged. Traveled on business for 2 weeks - no hikes, no physical activity... just work. I'm not sure how to make my 60 hikes happen, as I have 40 to go! Not only that - I gained 9 pounds - crap!! Summer is almost over. Too many days over 90 degrees, and the heat is daunting. Too many forest fires, so the air quality is unhealthy. Too many hours in front of the computer - because I need to complete my projects, so my priorities are increasingly evident . Too many deadlines to make a hike a priority -excuses, excuses...but they really are... just excuses, I guess. Too many days have passed since my last hike. It is getting harder to keep the momentum I felt when I first started... got to get through this patch of ... stagnation. Not excuses... barriers. I just have to figure out how to bypass the barriers.
